I write to inform you that The Bewdley School plans to change the school day structure in September 2026. Consultation with staff took place earlier this term.
A resolution of governors supporting consultation with our community with regard to this change was approved at a full governing body meeting on Wednesday 11 February 2026. I am writing to you on behalf of the Governing Body who will now consult formally with the school community. The consultation is for a statutory 3-month period, so it will run throughout March, April and May of 2026.
The planned change to the school day is to increase lunchtime from 35 to 50 minutes, involving a 10 minute earlier start to the school day, and a 5 minute later finish:

The principal change is that the centre of the lunch break between the two tutorials, increases from 15 to 30 minutes. This has been designed specifically to allow us to offer a much broader range of enrichment activity for all students during the school day.
You can express your views as a member of the school community here:

You are invited to a consultation meeting to discuss this proposal, in the Activity Studio next to reception at school, on:
Wednesday 18th March at 5pm
If you would like to arrange an individual meeting with me to discuss this, or contact me by email to express your views, please contact my PA, Lynne Oliver, at:
There will be much more information to follow in the summer term, regarding the rich and diverse range of enrichment activities we plan to offer.
Thank you for your support with this important change.
