Year 10 Geography Course Modules


  • GCSE OCR A: Year 10 Landscapes of the UK

    Students study the distribution of lowland and upland areas, and the geomorphic processes that create the distinctive landscapes.  They look in detail an coastal and river landscapes.

  • GCSE OCR A: Year 10 People of the UK

    Students study the development of the UK, and the consequences of uneven development.  We look at some of the factors that influence development, including diversity, trade and ageing populations.  Students have an in depth look at Birmingham, and examine the challenges and way of life for people in the city.

  • GCSE OCR A: Year 10 Human Fieldwork – Regeneration of Birmingham

    Students get to carry out an investigation in Birmingham city centre.  They carry out a range of fieldwork techniques, present the data and analyse their findings.  This should aid their understanding of the impacts of redevelopment.

  • GCSE OCR A: Year 10 The World Around Us

    Students study the World’s major ecosystems.  They examine their interdependent components and distinctive characteristics.  They will complete case studies on the Peruvian rainforest and a coral reef in Indonesia.

Year 11 Geography Course Modules


  • GCSE OCR A: Year 11 People of the Planet

    Students study development in a global context.  They look at the uneven development, and focus on the factors that contribute to development in a case study of Ethiopia.  he distribution of lowland and upland areas, and the geomorphic processes that create the distinctive landscapes.  They look in detail an coastal and river landscapes.
