Student Support

Pastoral Support

As a Sixth Form we place a significant emphasis on supporting students to adapt to the demands of post-16 study as quickly as possible. Our pastoral system ensures academic support is provided at the earliest opportunity. Students’ attendance, punctuality and overall attitude to study are monitored and reported to parents/carers throughout their time with us.

The Sixth Form study mentor ensures that the study room is a productive work space. They also work closely with individuals to support them academically and pastorally. This can be in the form of proof-reading essays, support designing revision timetables or writing a CV. The Sixth Form mentor, and form tutor, are there to assist with whatever the individual needs support with.

Students and parents/carers may also find these websites useful.

You may be eligible to apply for one or more of the following, depending on your circumstances:

  • Bursary for Vulnerable Groups - a bursary of up to £1200 per college year for applicable students.
  • Discretionary Bursary - for students who need financial support to help them to stay in education or training to help with the cost of transport, accommodation for eligible courses and additional course costs.
  • Add link to Bursary Policy and the Application Form – AWH has these and the newly approved version from Governors.
