A number of subjects have created Summer Projects for current Year 9 (going into Year 10), Year 10’s (going into Year 11) and Year 11’s (going into Year 12). These projects will enable students to have the best possible start to their next academic year. Students need to complete these projects over the summer in preparation for September.

Year 9 (going into Year 10) Projects

Maths –

In each Office 365 Maths Group is a folder called Summer Homework – In this folder is a copy of the exam papers and the mark schemes. Over the summer, students need to go over these exams to ensure that they fully understand all of the material taught during Year 9, i.e. the GCSE course so far. Please use https://corbettmaths.com to help with anything students don’t understand.  Students also have your CGP MathsBuster to help – use the Browse Revision Topics.  If students haven’t got one of these, we will be offering you the opportunity to purchase one in September. Don’t forget that the first lesson back in September will be a test. We are looking for a solid start to Year 10 and the rest of your GCSE course.

Please be aware that although we have made some set changes for September, we may make more based on the results of this test.

Year 10 (going into Year 11) Projects

Don’t forget that the first three lessons back in September will be a GCSE paper.  Each paper is 90 minutes long and the lessons are only 50 minutes, allowing students to tackle half of each paper.  Students should easily manage to successfully do the first half, so we are looking for a solid start to Year 11 and the run up to the Trial examinations in late November.
